Halloween in 20 days

Halloween for bars and trivia nights

Halloween week is the easiest theme night of the year to fill. Put a haunted room on the screen: a table or a back room joins from their phones with a code, everyone becomes a monster, and they play each other until one is left. For a full house and a longer night, run Fright night as trivia.

How it runs

Two minutes from now

  1. Open a room on the screen

On the laptop that feeds the television, open a haunted room and name it for the venue. No account. Turn the sound on when the room is ready for it.

    Open a haunted room
  2. Guests join from their tables

They scan the code, pick a monster and finish one sentence about themselves. Nothing to install. The first thirty are drawn as their own monster and up to sixty can play; for a bigger crowd, run a room per section or the trivia night below.

  3. Play, then let them post it

About six minutes a round: questions about each other on the screen, phones as the pads, a last survivor to buy a drink for. The poster of the room carries your venue's name, and every guest leaves with their own.

Or run a trivia night

Fright night on the big screen, guests on their phones, the board at the end, and the best costume judged while the scores settle. Open Fright night, press Make my version, and read every question before doors open. How a live night runs, and what the big-screen host costs, is on the bar trivia page.

Questions

What do we need on the night?

A laptop connected to a television or projector, and your guests' phones. There is no app to install and no player account.

How many people can play a haunted room?

Three to thirty is what it is made for. Up to sixty can join one room: the first thirty are drawn as their own monster and the rest play as the monster they picked. For a full house, a hosted trivia night suits better, or open a room for each section.

Can we add a costume contest?

Yes, and it suits the night. Run the round first, then judge the costumes from the stage while the scores settle. Costume hall of fame makes a round out of your regulars' costumes from past years, if you have the stories.

Is the content suitable for a mixed crowd?

A room starts family and work safe: what guests type about themselves is checked before it reaches the screen, and you can skip any question. The Halloween rounds are spooky rather than gory, and you can read and change every question before the night.

What does it cost?

A haunted room is free, and so is trying a round and making a short one. The plan that runs a big-screen trivia night with a host who reacts out loud is on the pricing page, with its current price.
